I know of no harder task that produces such a deep and rich benefit than the process of conciliation relational differences. But to be clear, it is difficult as it requires a personal death of sorts.

• An informality and open communication that help parties identify their own creative solutions
• It is typically must faster and more economical than court solutions
• The parties own and control the terms and outcomes of their agreement
• Confidentiality promotes open communication and allows the dispute and its resolution to stay private
• Opportunity exists for dealing with matters of the heart (sinful thoughts, attitudes and actions, confession, forgiveness) in the effort to achieve true reconciliation
• Parties learn ways to deal with future conflict
• One party can benefit spiritually from doing what the Word of God requires, even if the other party decides not to follow the Biblical steps
• It contributes to maintaining unity in the Body of Christ
• It can be a means to introduce unbelievers (those directly or indirectly involved in your dispute and the conciliation process) to Jesus Christ.
